Chair of the Partnership and Community Portfolio holder for Wealden District Council, Councillor Pam Doodes, “The JAG is most effective when we have broad support from the community which we represent. I am delighted that so many local agencies are now engaged with us. Together we can achieve so much more on behalf of the community.”

Chair of the Joint Action Group, Neighbourhood Inspector Tony Wakefield, “This is about community involvement and consultation, and about bringing different agencies together to achieve better results. It’s about asking people what they want and not telling them what they are going to get.”

Issues discussed at the meeting included speed management on local roads, fly tipping, recent crime trends including the theft of lead and other metals and theft of charity bags from outside of homes.

The JAG also plans the forthcoming Quality Streets event which will be held on 24th May.

The Partnership has funding available for projects that fulfil the priorities that the Partnership has identified for 2011 – 2014.
