 T&E in Your AreaYou would normally by now have received the next edition of T&E In Your Area; our monthly newsletter setting out the Transport & Environment Department work program over the next couple of months.
You will no doubt know that the Government has announced in-year savings of some £1.2bn from Local Government specific and Area Based Grants nationally. We have recently had confirmation that £1.9m of that grant cut will directly affect the services of T&E. We, along with other departments of the County Council, have put together proposals to reduce expenditure by this amount in this financial year and inevitably, if approved, this will have an impact on our previously published programmes.
The proposals are being considered by the Cabinet Committee on Monday 5th July after which we will be able to confirm the schemes that will no longer proceed and issue an updated T&E In Your Area reflecting the budget savings.
