Newick Film club's next screening in the Sports Pavilion is on Thursday 1st March and will be the 2000 comedy “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” which is loosely based upon Homer’s Odyssey.
The lead character Ulysses Everett McGill is played by George Clooney, and his wife Penelope is played by Holly Hunter. The production team includes the Coen brothers. and nominated for several Oscars it was pipped at the post by Russell Crowe & “Gladiator”. The American folk soundtrack won a Grammy for Album of the year in 2001 so listen out for the Soggy Mountain Boys.
So mark your diary, Thursday 1st March at 7.30 for 7.55 in the Newick Sports Pavilion. The bar will be open and Teas & Coffee will be available. The introduction will start prompt at 7.55 and there will be a discussion, for those who would like to stay on once the film has finished.
