Fletching Parish Council- Monthly Newsletter
Over the past month the Council has discussed many matters, however, the main focus areas have been:
The Badgers in the Burial Ground – work was undertaken in early July to discourage badgers from the burial ground. Various measures have been implemented to hopefully prevent their re-entry; the sett does remain active on the farm side of the wall. The work was licensed and overseen by Natural England and the area will be monitored over the coming months.
Insurance – the insurance requirements of the Parish Council and the Recreation Ground Committee have been reviewed in great detail. Available policies were then established and a new single policy covering both areas has now been purchased. This approach has saved over £300 from premiums paid by last year by the Parish Council and the Recreation Ground Committee.
Parking – much discussion has taken place in and around the Parish and approx. 30 residents have voted on the web site online poll (www.fletching-pc.org). The poll will close on Friday 22nd July. The ‘Parish Parking Meeting’ is scheduled to take place in the Village Hall on Monday 25th July at 7:30pm with Sussex Police. Please make every effort to come along and express your views, or hear those of others.
Further updates will be published next month, meanwhile have a safe and pleasant summer.
