Waste Management Strategy Update

Good News was released yesterday by ESCC regarding the Waste and Minerals Stategy.  The revised plan does not have any Areas of Search for landraise or landfill reflecting the County Council’s policy steer to “Minimise the amount of the county’s waste sent to landfill or landraise”.

Therefore the revised strategy does not include the provision of any new land disposal sites and does not retain the existing Waste Local Plan site allocation at Ashdown Brickworks. Existing landfill capacity at Pebsham will be safeguarded. In addition, the Plan does not include any provision for the disposal of London’s waste.  Click here for the full report.
